PF vs. RD (heads only) Now with content!

It's just my opinion (which means very little) but I would go to the
Digifart, My 88 Golf runs so solid with it it's not even funny. Pro-M
sells a conversion that will convert the VAM over to a Mass Air Meter. To
me that is the limiting factor of the whole set up. (Ever looked at the
inlet in the meter? A saying involving a Knat's arse and a rain barrel come
to mind!) There are a number of companies that will re-program the ECU so
that's not a problem. Of course I've never been good with CIS so I'm sure
I'm a little biased. Hence the reason for going to Weber's on my 78, and if
I ever get around to it the 16V will get IR's and a Stand Alone System. I
would think you'll get a bunch if CIS votes since there are alot of people
who run it and very are loyal to the system. I'd liken that to Brown's
fans. Replies to this thread will be like belly Buttons: everybody has
one and they will all stink. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this...

Erik

> Accidently hit enter on the last email which sent it off. Anyways, I
change my mind all the time and so now, after this whole thread on the RD
digi/not digi thing I may change my mind again. I'm trying to decide
wheither I want the PF or the RD head for my swap. It will most likely being
going on a 1.8L bored to a 2L. Originally was an RD block, but has custom
pistons and stuff so I don't think it matters.

> The PF is digi, which is cool because then I can chip it and it's kind of
unique. Plus it opens up the possibilities of boost later on. Also, the PF
motor puts out slightly more HP than the RD but I don't know if this is due
to the head or bottom end. The RD is CIS-E, which would still require some
rewiring, although not as much I don't think as I have CIS now. It would
also be considerably cheaper. So, opinions? Should I take the leap to digi
and possibly squeek out a couple more HP or is it just not worth it and I
should stick with the local, cheap RD head?
