adjusting air/fuel mixture

The metering plate height is determined by the air flow going through it.
And the piston that meters the fuel? Well, its height is determined by the
height of the metering plate. More air flow, the plate rides higher, the
piston moves higher and meters more fuel. That's kind of the basics of the
CIS, the mechanical connection between the metering plate and the fuel
metering piston. So when you push down the plate (or the lever it's mounted
to it via the 3mm screw) the fuel metering piston also moves down and
reduces the amount of fuel delivered. You're cutting off the fuel.
Now why the hell are you pushing down on the allen key????? ;^) I don't
think the Bentley tells you to do that!
Adjust the mixture, remove the allen key, rev engine, check mixture, repeat
as necessary.
I'm being alittle sarcastic tonight so I hope you don't take offense.
Dan
