making an 8v just a tad peppier question

Hi William;
    I have a 1985 Audi 10 to 1 compression 8 valve hydraulic lifter 1800cc
engine in my 1979 Scirocco. I installed a TT long down pipe and had my local
muffler shop install a two and a half inch exhaust system. This helped but
the engine really lit up when I installed a 272 hydraulic cam.
