Remember when applying rust remover to give the bolt a few serious whacks with a hammer. Something about the oscillations help get the oil into the hole better. The side of the can explains better than I do. I usually do a sharp blow or 2 to the top of the bolt and the same to the side, if accessible. Makes all the difference.
