[(Sorta) New to the list]

So, a little more about me and my car, eh? Well, I live in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa, and I'm a senior in high school. I bought the car locally
for $900 about three or four years ago.It has around 175,000 miles on
it. Right now, I'm sad to say it's in a state of disrepair. The body's
good and solid except for a few minor dents and dings a few small
patches of surface rust that should be easy to take care of. The engine
runs pretty well except that it burns about a quart of oil every 200
miles and recently has decided not to idle at all. I guess that'd be one
thing that's driving me nuts. Needless to say, because of that fact, it
hasn't been driven much recently. It's no fun to drive a car that dies
at every stop light and stop sign. This summer the car will hopefully
get a rebuilt 1.8 liter (unless some lister in the midwest has a 2 liter
bottom end that they're willing to part with for cheap?) and some
supsension and cosmetic work. I'd like to have it in running shape in
time for Cincy, but I don't know if that's going to happen.
I don't have too many huge plans right now for economic reasons, but
sometime in the (possibly distant) future I'd like to try a Megasquirt
with either a turbo or individual throttle bodies on a 2 liter 16v. I'm
planning on building a Megasquirt this summer for the BMW, so we'll see
how that goes before I try it on the 'rocco. Any other questions?
