Fill it from the top radiator hose until its full. hook it back up and fill the bottle. then start it and let it run until it heats up and coolant starts coming out the over fill bottle. then close it. and it should be fine. I had to learn that trick the hard way. whopped head and a blown head gasket until i learned.
