Need wheel advice (badly) - a tad long

OK - a little background: I had my tires rotated a couple of days =
before Rocs In the Fog 2002. After I did that, I was (and still am) =
getting a terrible vibration in the 70-85 mph range (and, yes, I pretty =
much always drive that fast ;). In addition, during the RITF, I locked =
'em up pretty good - skidding a good 30-40 feet.

At the behest of some listers, I took the wheels to be rebalanced and =
they were re-installed in the same configuration they were brought in. =
No luck fixing the problem. I took them back to wheelworks and asked =
them to investigate if any of the wheels were bent. They told me that =
the two rear wheels were "bent the worst" and the front left wheel was =
bent as well. They also mentioned that there was evidence of lock-up and =
that could irreversibly impact performance. I haven't actually tried to =
re-install them in the original configuration yet because they said that =
the ones on the front were actually the worst off...

The problems I have with their assessment is two-fold: 1) how is it =
that the car drove basically rattle-free with two bent rims in the front =
and one bent in the rear (the configuration prior to rotating)? also, =
2) is 30-40 ft of skid enough to permanently damage a set of Yoko =
Paradas?=20

Is it worth it to have bent rims straightened? How much does it =
typically cost? Here's a pic of the rims I currently have and a pic of =
the rims I'm considering if it's too expensive to get em fixed:

iew=3Dt

The next problem is that I really like the profile of the 16s, but most =
of you recommended getting 15s last time I brought this up. I'm pretty =
sure I can get both sizes - is that still the consensus?

Thanks in advance, =20

Jeff
