blue alternator wire/battery light/no voltage



Correct, it will (although in most cases requires higher rpm to excite)
continue to charge most of the time, but it is at a constant rate, kind of
like a limp home mode, with the wire connected it becomes regulated and will
increase output depending on the load of system and state of charge of the
battery. By the way I scanned the '82 wiring diagrams (7 pages) for you and
attached them to another e-mail for you to sort out the other electrical
problem.
