Our ignition standard inductive electronic ignition or is it CDI?

Maybe I'm just not hep to the jive, but the only coil system I'm familiar
with is the type Julie described, with constant power to the coil, and pull
it low when you need a spark. The coil I'm used to is not a capacitor, but
is wired up to provide current to one. That's all from a '31'ish Ford Model
A system.

Isn't that how our's work? If not, maybe someone can clarify what
terminology applies to any other systems, and how they can be identified
visually.
