If timing belt is OK, then I was thinking fuel relay. Then the report
came w/ No Spark. Hmmmm, the funky Hall Sensor plug  sounds ratty
aright. 

There is a test in the Bentley to tell if you are getting a pulse signal
out of it. 

Coils themselves rarely go bad, and usually not like you mention (bam!,
dead at the light) More likely IF it is spark related would be the 12v
running TO the coil and/or the trigger (hall sensor et al) circuit.
