Removing the flywheel

I'm trying to remove the flywheel from the engine on my '86 (JH, 8V engine).  Bentley just says to remove the bolts, but the heads on these bolts don't look like anything I have seen before.  They look kind of like the 12 point tool used for the CV joints or head bolts.  Am I just looking at some really messed up bolt heads, or is there a special tool needed here?  If so, what's it called?
