I tested the pump while it was out just now and it spins w/ some pretty
serious torque.  Seems to spin free and smooth but with a slight gravely
sound to it.  Actually it is hard to believe that it may be the original one
from 23 years ago!
Should I not be running it (even for a second or two) dry?
