2.0l 8v - add - on options?

For a few quick inexpensive mods you could add a cam and lightend flywheel. 

If you dont already have a close ratio tranny I would go for it also, funds 
permitting.
If you have lots of spare time you can port match the manifolds and if you 
are taking the head off might as well gasket match on top of that. And if you 
are getting really ambitious you can smooth out the casting lines too and get 
a valve job done.
