Cold start enrichment-still no start.

Cathy, I've not an expert on 5th injector operation, but one thing of note
is that according to ETKA the thermotime switch for 16V engines is a 15C
switch compared to the 35C switch for 8V engines. Both switches have
brown connectors on them. Part number for the 16V switch is 034 906 163.

You should have continuity between one wire on the thermo-time switch and
the 5th injector plug, so if you don't that's a problem.

Check the Bentley on the thermotime circuit - I seem to recall something
about it only getting voltage while cranking (from a terminal on the
starter) but I may be off base on that, as it's a fuzzy memory. I only
once ever had trouble with cold start valve operation, and that was on an
80 Rabbit that I had swapped a 1.6 into (for the 1.5) and the wiring
harness for that circuit had failed during the swap.

HTH,

Drew
