tech: engine balancing - why dont our engines have balancer shafts?

Noah-
The harmonic damper (not dampener) is intended to damp torsional
vibrations in the crankshaft. These vibrations are caused by the firing
impulses. Some HD's are designed to assist in the balancing as well, but
only on certain engines.
