RE: transmission problem!!

Egadz! Thank you everyone for your advise, and yes, this puts the
lighting system on hold at the moment. Assuming the worst for now,
how much should another transmission run? Also, I was about to order
a new Sachs Clutch Kit, and all the seals for my transmission, should
I go ahead and make that order, or wait and see what is wrong? I
figure I am still going to need that stuff if I get another
transmission, but I could be wrong.

Lastly, since this is all way beyond my abilities, I am going to have
to have a mechanic look it over, and do the work, could someone give
me an idea of a ballpark number of hours this should take a qualified
mechanic, so I can try not to get too screwed, and so that I can make
some estimate to total cost?
