Ah... I am 6'4" and I know exactly what you mean about the length of
the throw, especially in 5th! Oddly enough it never occurred to me
that cutting down the shift knob would solve this problem. In fact, I
always kind of assumed it would make it worse because the knob would
be closer to the floorboard, thus further from my shoulder.

So, how much was cut off? Did it make a huge difference, because I
would give just about anything to be able to shift into 5th with more
than two fingers, and that is with a short shift kit!







The goal is to overcome the deliberate nature of the process.
