Re: Best Gap setting... "Bosch platinum Spark plugs" 16V




I hate to say it, but I agree.

I was one of those who thought Bosh + Platinum = great performance and
longer lasting for my Scirocco.

Boy was I wrong.  They ran like crap a few months after installed.  (this
was a while back in a '77 MK1 with a simple 1.7 with a shaved head).  Took
em out and put in plain old copper and it ran fine.  Every Mechanic I have
talked to says the same thing.  The Platinum actually burn up in the older
engines and will cause you more headaches then they are worth.
