Re: Tech [oil pan removal on car]




Sorry for coming into this thread late.  I use a modified 10mm flex socket
(a socket and U-joint all in one) that's been ground down for clearance.  
It fits up in there quite well, where a U-joint and a socket won't fit.

It's a damned tight spot, for sure - and the trick is to get the bolts
back in without cross-threading them.  I've worked on several engines
where someone had crossthreaded these two bolts (they go into the rear
main seal carrier which is alumninium) because they were careless when
reinstalling.
