I will be replacing the crank seal on my 87 8v rocco tomorrow and am
wondering if I should use some form of RTV or Permatex on the gasket for the
seal carrier housing (flange off block that holds crank seal).  Note that I
am not speaking about the crank seal itself, rather the gasket for the
carrier.

Also, anyone have any nifty ideas of how to actually retorque the crankbolt
to specs?  I am just thinking of whizzing it up with my gun.
