Re: Militec-1 additive

my dad used to use an industrial equivilent to slick 50 way back in the late
70's. what this had in it was a teflon additive. what it claimed to do was
to smoothen the cylinder walls, thus causing less friction. we put in our
91 suburban when it was new, and there was a noticable increase in fule
mileage, and it's also supposed to hinder engine wear. i haven't used it in
my 'rocco, but am thinking about it. my dad has used it in many of his
older bmw's, audi's, and vdubs. sometimes some people are a little
over-skeptical about engine treatments. sometimes (or maybey most) the
claimes that are on the package do exaggerate what it actually does, but
most of the time, it is due to the fact that they perfom these tests on new
engines.
i dunno, i don't really see any harm in additives, but hey, some people are
just dead set against them.
