Re: Shift linkage scraping / Poly A-arm bushings

I used a razor blade, a 2.5" bolt with nut, and a 6" vise to do mine.
I cut both rubber flanges off the old bushings with the blade.
Notice that one side of the bushing carrier on the A-arm is flanged.
I threaded the nut 1/4 way up the bolt and inserted the bolt into the end of
the old bushing. (the end OPPOSITE the flange)
I then put it in the vise between the A-arm flange (right on the edge of
the vise jaw) and the head of the bolt.
It will obviously be in the vise at an angle.
Just tighten the vise and they'll pop right out.
Things to consider:
Make sure the bolt fits into the bushing similarly to the original, but
don't use your original's.
Make sure your vise jaws are of a softer material than your A-arms so you
don't damage them.
As you tighten the vise, the angle of attack changes, so you may have to
thread the nut toward the bushing and get another grip with the vise.

This looks like allot, but it's really simple, and I removed both of mine in
less than 10 min.
Not necessarily a better way, but another way. Use what ya got!

As far as the bug packs, mine were two piece and required little
futzing.just lube'em n' tap,em.
