RE: 16V transaxles, was Re: now: torque is good - was Re: 50 mm vs40mm intake




Apparently the old style case (2H, FN etc) cannot accept 100 mm flanges
without some clearancing.

The newer cases (4K, 7A and all A2 gearboxes that came with 90 mm CV's)
will accept 100mm CV's with no problems.

There is a chart on scirocco.org that someone(?!) posted outlining which
transmissions came from the factory with 100mm CV's vs 90mm cvs.  It's on
the gears page, I believe.
