Re: Help me fix my stereo.



I would echo what Jim had to say with his response about the power; the
speakers are a bit more complicated and yet a bit "less" complicated.   I
have had good success in finding the same color wires at the speaker
terminals that are in the dash... if that doesn't work or if you don't want
to pull your speaker covers off the doors then you can certainly take a
small battery like a AA and click your speaker using the positive and
negative terminal.

The only issue with doing something like that is getting what they refer to
as phasing correct; in order to recreate bass in an effective manner you
must have all the speakers with the correct positive and negative terminals
in place.  Speakers are basically (for the purposes of bass reproduction)
mechanical mechanisms that need to move in the same direction as their
counterpart both front as well as to back....  so if you have one out of two
or two out of four speakers out of phase you will have a cancellation of
sound waves and it will sound like you have no bass!
