RE: C.V Shaft Question

why?
the only time I've ever had to remove the control arm bolt is on my Rabbit
Sportruck (automagic) on the driver side so the inside joint would clear
some bolts on that God-awful transmission....

I have found that when the car is jacked up, and you have all the bolts
loose/off, then you can just turn the wheel one way or the other and get it
out. Sometimes I have to push on it from the spine with a wrench or
something.

Simple. Take the 19mm headed bolt out of the lower control arm mount (where
it mounts to the frame horns or where the lower stressbar is hooked to).
Pop it out of the mount on the frame horn and pull the axle. I would
reccomend taking the outer CV nut off and the inner CV bolts before you do
this so you don't pull your inner CV apart!! HTH!!
