the way to think of it is that you don't have a copy of the program. you are
hosting an off-site backup for someone else. every now and then you access
it to make sure there is no data corruption. this is legal since you did not
pay for it and you are chaging the person (whom you don't know if anyone
asks) nothing to store it there! that way you are providing a service and
since there is no money changing hands, there is no fraud or piricy

if that's too legal for you, just say it's not yours and you are just
holding it there for a guy.
