RE: clutch replacement



Why a pickle fork?  The manuals (Bentley, Haynes) don't tell you to remove
the let drive shaft, but doing so makes the job about 3 hours easier.
However, they tell you to separate the ball joint or something to get the
drive shaft out, and there's no need for that.  Before you raise the car,
remove the axle nut (30mm socket).  Then unbolt the inner CV and wiggle it
up and off of the drive flange.  Tap the drive shaft towards the center of
the car and it will slide right out.

I have used a 2x4 and a piece of nylon rope to support the engine.  Put rags
on the fenders so you don't scratch the paint.  I recently bought an engine
hoist, so I'll be using that in the future.

Make sure you have red Loctite around for the pressure plate to crankshaft
bolts.
