Jody,

I had a similar problem trying to get my 16V motor to turn as well with an
8V starter.  I eneded up buying a turbo diesel starter and she starts no
problem.  Incidentally I also reground the car with 4 gauge wire and the old
starter got fried.  Just my personal experience.
