What years and models of VW and Audi had the 2 litre 8V motors?

The Audi 80 had the 2L bubble block from like 89-92 I think...it was an 8v.
The GTI/GLI 16v came with a 2L as well...that was from 90-92. The ABA 2L came
in the crossflow Golfs and Jettas from 93-95, but was replaced by something
else in 96 for the OBD2 emissions system. The engine used from 96-99.5 is
better than the one used from 93-95 in some respects. Supposedly the flow of
the head was better, although it came with single valve springs instead of
the duals. Compression was also higher....no doubt to compensate for the OBD2
system choking the life out of the engine. Both these engines were tall
blocks (the block is 16mm's taller) using longer rods (159mm) instead of the
shorter (144mm) rods used in the 1.8's (except G60) and 2L bubble blocks
