Me too! Well, first time this month. :)

Yah!! Get out there and see how much fun your missing.

You cant really expect to win your first time out. (Although I did which
was a fluke and didn't will again for a very long time.) It will take you
a little while to get your driving sorted out and also get the car dialed
in a little better. The important thing is to go out and have fun.
Besides, even if you win you don't win anything of real value. Maybe a
trophy?? Its a entry level motorsports event where you pay to race.
Experience is the most you can gain from the experience and from that,
you should find fun. I know I do or I wouldn't do it for as long as I
have. Its meant to be fun so go have at it!

Oh, BTW, you guys might like to know that my 82 Scirocco took 1st place
today at the SD event! Even tho they're not worth much, I value the
little wooden trophy's myself. :)

You meet alot of cool people. Not just VW people but drivers of all kinds
of car makes, yes, even Honda drivers. (In fact, I pitted and had lunch
with a trailered EPL Honda CRX which was in this months issue of
Grassroots Motorsports. Open your minds people, its OK, really.) Anyhoo,
find a couple 3 experienced drivers to help you out. Most people are
happy to give you driving tips, even if your in their class. Today was I
good example of that. I was helping the driver of the Spitfire figure out
a couple sections of the course which did help his time. Were cool like
that.

Its not as easy as it looks on ESPN, is it? ESPN has awesome coverage but
there's nothing like being in the seat yourself!
It will also make you a better driver on the street once you get a few
events under your belt. I noticed that within 18 months of autoxing, I
had avoided no less than 3 accidents which happened right in front of me
and if I hadn't had the experience of knowing what the car could do, I
would of ended up in the middle of them all.
