There is only one motor, and linkage to both wiper splines.  Sounds to me 
like the wiper arm is slipping, maybe the splines are worn, or its just not 
on tight enough. If one side is moving, chances are they both are, unless 
your linkage broke, and I highly doubt that.  Anyway...if it turns out you 
do need a new lingage/motor setup, let me know I've a couple laying around, 
one of them is bound to work.
