I love you too, and I do have a Bentley for '85 Roccos and later. But....
How close to the Rocco is the wiring etc of the GTI? I am assuming that a
GTI is a wanabe Rocco (just hatched)...
Hows this. I found an old reg card under the seat. It was for 43 Reid St in
another town (25 miles away), I live at 34 Reid St.... Go figure...
It also has a foreign licence plate (found under the seat)that was riveted
at some time to the car.
The bumpers are steel, are these the Euro Bumpers?

This the full throttle microswitch. Uh, I think it disables the
frequency valve on the fuel dist when you mash it, effectively cutting
the O2 sensor circuit under certain conditions.

There is a test for the sender, if it's not putting out you can just
swap it. On the other hand if you send 12v to the gauge you should see
some movement. Also, one of the biggest problems in having proper
grounds for the second half of the circuit.
