Rocco Project Revived!!! (long)

Yo, what f**k up, people! I'm so friggin' stoked right now. Scotty here
finally got back to the restoration and rebuild of his fabled Mk1
Scirocco. That's right, though my email sig has said "NJ Scirocco nut"
since the days of 9600 baud modems, I've actually been driving Rabbit
GTis four about four straight years. Hell, even the two years before
that I was riding a Honda CBR 600 all year round. So, check this... I
have to finally admit that I haven't driven my own Scirocco since...
(shudder) about 1993.

But like I said, the project has been reborn -after about 3.5 years
worth of complete and pathetic stagnation. I just got back from
transporting it via flatbed to a local chum who's going to paint the
thing next week. And then I tow it up to North Jersey where it'll be
rebuilt by a fellow VW-freak who's much more time on his hands than me.
The paint will be running me about $1600 including body work, prime,
and final spraying. -not too shabby considering the fact that the guy
does show cars. I'm figuring that putting the whole thing back together
again will be setting me back a similar amount.

Now, here's the thing: What color do I go with? Please everyone, chime
in with your suggestions. The multispoke wheels (Panasport 14x7s) are
silvery-greyish in color. Interior will be black. Colors under definite
consideration are dark versions of: british racing green, navy blue,
eggplant, or burgundy. I am open to any ideas, though. And should I do
it a flat color or go with a pearl treatment? Should I paint the
rollcage the body color or in black? What color brake rotors?

Next, I've got to decide what kind of body modifications I want. So far,
here's what is definite: Shaved side marker lights, no "Volkswagen" logo
in the back, filled in stock antennae hole, Fuba antennae where you'd
expect it on the roof, European Mk1 bumpers (thanks, Dirk!). As for the
tentative stuff.. shaved rear hatchback lock -to be opened via a
solenoid or with a pull release lever, small hood scoop, "sucide" hood
that lifts forward instead of backwards like usual.

Am I missing anything? I've got to make the body color decision by this
Wednesday... Whudda y'all think?
