RE: Idle Problem Still/Again



Wow, it idles at redline?  I thought my 1200 rpm idle was fast.  :-)

But seriously, before going to the trouble of replacing all the vacuum
lines, spray some carb cleaner all over the engine.  Be sure to douse the
intake boots, all the vacuum lines, all fittings in said lines, etc.  If you
have a vacuum leak, this will pinpoint it for you because the engine will
respond when it sucks in the carb cleaner.  I suspected a vacuum leak
because of some bad stumbling problems, and this ruled out that possibility
for me, saving me the trouble of replacing all the lines.  (still have the
stumbling on acceleration, though.)

If you're really brave, use ether. 8-)  Just be sure to have a fire
extinguisher handy.
