Fuel Injection Problems Resolved! Was:"Help Needed"

Hey All,

You may remember that a couple of weeks back my my 77 Roc was stranded
with fuel injection problems. Well after a week of running over to the
car to check out various possiblities and comming up with nothing I
decided to have the thing towed to the local VW shop. You may remember I
suspected blocked fuel lines or a blocked in tank screen. I looked into
the tank and it was super clean thankfully. The problem was a crack in
the Air Duct that runs from the air filter to the throttle body. A $57.00
fix! (lets not talk about the tow fee, what else could I do? I've owned
this car for 20 Years!). The service guy told me that it needed a tune up
so I gave the go ahead on that (I've been a Bad Owner since I bought the
86 Roc.). Total Bill for repairs $200.00. Not bad. I can give my highest
recommendation to Halsey Automotive at 77th & NE Halsey to those listers
in the Portland OR. area. A VW only shop with a great parts shop next
door.

Now about the brakes on the 86...

Thanks to the listers who sent me their Ideas, I hope the fuel tank
replacement went well Stewart.
