How worn is your key? Also, define "frozen"...key
won't turn tumbler, or key turns tumbler and nothing
happens?

I reckon de-icers are also purty good de-greasers. I
use a little silicon spray, the kind with the little
red tube that fits in the nozzle. Place tube in
keyhole, give it a light squirt, and you may be OK.
Be sure to wipe your key off. Seems to hold up in the
very cold, too.

On the rest of the lock mechanisms...well, really,
about everything that moves...I'm the Spray Lithium
Grease King. I'm convinced that that's the VW
longlife tonic.

I'm such a high-tech guy. Simple solutions for simple
minds.
