hydro head (8V)

What would I need to do to replace my mechanical (JH) head to a hydro head?  
Oil pump?  Anything else?

Also, anyone have any experience with thinner headgaskets?  Does it really 
make a difference?  Enough to warrant the higher cost?

Any help or ideas or thoughts would be great!!
