    indeed, we used the full throttle switch for the first 6 runs, but the
temp wasn't changing any, so that's when we disconnected it.  i was running
consistent 14.85s, and a best of 14.5 with the full throttle switch in
operation when ambient temperatures cooled down a bit.

    i can tell you that as soon as the switch was turned off, temps outside
stayed quite hot, and i yanked a 14.33.  i'm sure that there were other
fctors involved, but one thing is for sure, it didn't take away from my
performance.

    the theory that my friend had is that the car was running so rich in
open loop, so he wanted to see if he was correct.  he was correct.  the
temps were really very high, and i'm sure that the track is kinda high, so
the volume of air being jammed into the motor was a helluva lot less than if
it were cooler outside.  so, by turning off the full throttle switch, the O2
sensor was allowed to affect the mixture right up to 7000rpm.

    at least this is what i think was happening.
