Re: Shift Knob



Now your gonna make me try and think huh?  I almost can't remember, but I
did it by using a picture of the nuespeed kit.  I believe I took two stock
kits and designated one as the one I was going to use and the other for
extension pieces.  I started out with the stock hole, and by about 3 inches
or so extended both the piece on the trans and the piece on the pivot.  I
drilled the holes that weren't already there (three on each linkage piece)
and used the stock bushings.  I actually have 9 different possible settings.
Once I was finished I smoothed everything out using a bench grinder and
painted it all black.  I made the weighted shift rod too!  All I did there
was find the perfect size washer that barely fit onto the rod to add weight
to.  Then when I found the right washer, I just put about 50 or so onto the
rod and welded a bead down each side.  Smoothed it all up and painted.
REALLY easy if you have the right tools!
