Re: engine dies around corners

Casey,

This happens on my car all the time and I really can't do anything about it.  I have a 77 Rabbit 2.0L 16v so since the car didn't come with an in tank pump, it does it all the time (well, atleast when I hit sharp curves and high rates of speed, SAFELY!!).  I guess I could wire one up since I have a pump and the harness that I installed from the 16v has the wires going to the tank for the pump, but maybe another day.  YOUR situation is pretty simple.  As long as your car came with an in tank pump, this is a pretty for sure sign that it is not working.  Another solution is a newer baffled tank (if they make them, or if yours isn't already) or a fuel cell!!!!  Would make a great excuse!!

Okay, this is starting to piss me off.....everytime I make a quick left turn when I have under 1/4 tank of gas, my engine will sputter and die (or come very close to that)......obviously the motor is starving for gas when it does this.

I guess it has something to do with the fuel pick up hose.  I'm hoping there is an easy fix for this....like should I open up the tank and redirect the hose?  or do I just not let the tank get that low?
