Re: sucky idle problems with the Mad Max turbo roc

Not that I know anything at all about a turbo engine, but I've had a
bouncing idle on my Jetta that would eventually die when idling. My problem
was fixed when I had the mixture properly adjusted. It was running too rich,
and that was fine when cruising, but it made it tough to idle. That lead to
the Catalytic converter going bad and then it clogged my exhaust, starving
me of power.

I replaced the Cat, had the mixture properly adjusted, replace plugs, wires
cap and rotor and now everything is fine.

Is it possible that you cranked up the mixture to dump extra gas into the
engine for the turbo? If so, maybe it's trying to idle with liquid in the
cylinders and you need to lean it out a bit.

Like I said I don't have any experience with turbos, but let me know if I'm
on the right track with this recommendation.
