The California Highway Patrol is replacing their Ford Crown Vics with Volvo 
S70's.  I have seen them fully outfitted with light bars and everything and 
asked the officers why they were driving Volvos.  I guess it has something 
to do with Ford buying Volvo.  The CHP is getting a huge price break on the 
Volvos; they're paying only $4500 more than they were for the Crown Vics.  
Also the CHP is retiring their Kawasaki Police 1000's (like the ones used on 
the TV show "Chips") and replacing them with some BMW bike.  I guess our 
state taxes have gone to buying nice rides for the cops!!
