    I believe that line's made of steel. You can cut it with a tubing
cutter, ream it smooth. flare the ends and flush with brake fluid to remove
any tiny metal pieces and then use a compression type union. I did this on
an old Rabbit that had lines in the floorboards(prone to rust caused by
leaky windshield gasket) Do this at your own risk though. You could of
course replace the entire line. I'll bet they're not cheap but probably
safer.
