Baffled oil pan

I want out auto-xing today and wound up starving the oil pump in this one
carner almost every run. The buzzer would sound for a second near the end of
the turn (no. . . .I still didn't slow down) and by teh second run I had
lifter noise that wasent there before. I intend to build my own baffled pan
using some sheet metal and a tig welder. I refuse to pay $200-350 for an
aftermarket oil pan. Question is, where should I put the baffles? Should they
go all the way across the pan (the short way/forward backwards in the car)?
Has anyone done this before?
TIA

Nate
