VAG parts CD - the great gold rush!

To everyone who mailed me over the weekend... I'm making a copy for Brett
Van Sprewenburg who has volunteered to to make further copies. I'm on the
wrong side of the pond for most of you so it's probably a lot quicker &
easier to get them from him. If anyone still wants me to make a copy,
e-mail me at Ewan.Hopkins@virgin.net and I'll be happy to do them. I can
mail a few screen-shots if anyone wants to look before they get it.

Now for the disclaimer...
There is a technical problem with running the software that may cause some
of you problems: you must be able to display a 1280x1024 desktop, either as
a scrollable virtual desktop or all on the screen at once because the
program runs in a fixed size window 1280x1024 and you lose vital things like
function buttons running on a smaller desktop.
AFAIK there are no problems running it on Windows 95/98. I'm running it
under NT4 but you need to make some modifications to do so. There is also a
windows 3.x version on the CD but I haven't tried it. If anyone is
interested, I'll give it a try.

Also, remember that this stuff is basically a graphical parts catalogue with
some extra info like that paint stuff I posted. Great for an exploded view
of your g-lader or if you want to know what '534 800 403 D' is, but there's
no technical info much beyond what would be needed to identify a part - you
won't get anything like gearbox ratios, compression ratios etc but it does
have reference lists such as engine code/applications, transmission
code/applications, paint codes, option codes, etc, etc. In other words,
it's no substitute for the repair manual. Pretty useful as a supplement
though.

HTH,

Ewan.

BTW, '534 800 403 D' is a primed & undersealed rhd MKII bodyshell with bare
doors & lids. How sad can you get!

I could copy it for everyone....where do you live?

86 16V Rocco
83 Rabbit
82 8V Rocco
And one junker American truck to haul parts.

I need a drivers side black fender and also need stock or cheap lowering
springs for a 16V
Looking for a good shell for parts swap from rotting shell (8v or 16V)
If you have any of these please e-mail me direct.
