Re: Need your advise here!

AFAIK a manually adjustable clutch cable will not work with the 16V
engine...Its not long enough because the airbox is in the way. If you have
routed the cable under the airbox, that might be the reason why its making
noise. The angle of the cable might be to severe. The self-adjusting cable is
about 10"-12" longer than the manual adjusting and should be routed over the
airbox down to the clutch lever. The cable then passes through the clutch
lever and is held in place(or anchored) by a rectangular rubber grommet about
1cm thick along with (2) metal clip/plates that fit into each other and prevent
the cable from sliping back through the clutch lever.
The self adjusting cable is spring loaded and has a rubber boot that covers
it. Attached to the boot is a plastic strap with (1) hole at each of the two
ends. Compress the spring/boot with your hands while trying to hook the
plastic strap holes onto the top portion of the spring housing. There will be
two small plastic hooks that the plastic strap holes hook onto. This allows
the spring to be fully compressed and the cable to be at its longest length
while giving enough play in the cable to install it through the clutch lever.
I hope this isn't to confusing. Feel free to ask any questions if this
explanation is not clear enough. HTH.
