I dissagree. The Audi A3 (Not the A3 chassis mind you..) with the 1.8T
that we drove puts out 200hp of it with only a chip and exhaust mod.
Getting another 20-40hp should be rather easy and inexpensive. I would
think that just by fitting an intercooler would easily give these gains.

Thats what turbo's do, spin-spin-spin.

Upgrading to a larger turbo would definately help with the boost output
capabilities. Definately do the intercooler. The exhaust manifold flows
pretty well but the exhaust system doesnt. You could go without headwork
and o-ring'n the head. I heard it thru the grapevine (From some relaible
sources I might add that total seal rings are not really as good as what
people are led to believe. Alot of inconsistencies in their final
products and leakdown tests showed them to not be as good as say....
stock rings.
So the bottom line is, if you have the money to do a 1.8T swap to begin
with, then getting additional ponies out of that powerplant shouldnt be
as expensive as one might think. Besides, if your gonna do it, do it once
and do it right. Right? Its only money after all...
