OK, but I was driving in 5th for about 15 miles when it suddenly quit
being a 5th gear and became luggage. I would think that if it were a
shift fork, it would of happened while I was trying (IE using the fork)
to engage 5th gear and not while I was simply cruising in gear. 

Im thinking that there are many possibilities of what could have
happened. I can make a huge scenario list. What im after is somebody,
anybody, with real world experience with this scenario. If not, then I am
the only one that this shit happens to eh? Im so special. :)
