Re: head questions....

Tony, AFAIK, a three angle valve job is where they machine 3 different
angles into the vavle seat, instead of just one that they come with from the
factory. I think this helps with low lift flow, and also valve seating.
Anyone else correct me?
And no, it will cost extra, and is not really "part" of a port and polish,
but probably worth the money if you want to do it right the first time.

In regards to the compression, according to the potterman, if i remember,
the VW motorsport head gasket will raise the compression to approx 11.4-1?
Also he said there will be major cooling problems, so i'd have to run a low
temp thermostat and fan switch (perhaps even a cockpit fan swich), at least
92 octane gas, and i think 70-80% distilled water in teh coolant. Thanks
to Mike for all the info.

Hi everyone
I am about ready to send out my head to have it P & P and I was
wondering what they do when they do a "3 angle valve job"
I hear the term a lot I just wanted to know what they mean. and do
they do this to all heads when the P & P it.

Also does any know how much you have to shave off of the head to get
compression up to 11.5 :1?? I am thinking of bumping the compressio
a little....more power can't hurt right?

thanks
Tony (working on the 2.0)
