Re: Problem adjust seat back with the "spinner" dial...

Could be that the teeth on the inside of the dial are chewed up and not grabbing the splines on the nub (technical term) that extends from the seat. The dial on my old 8v did this and I replaced it with a junkyard part. Just take the screw that holds the dial on, pull it off, and check the inner teeth.
Let me know if this is indeed the problem.

On this '88 Scirocco 16V I just picked up, I can't get the backrest on
either seat to adjust by turning the dial on the inner side of the seat
back. The dial turns without much resistance and nothing happens. Is there
an easy way to fix this or am I doing something wrong? Never had this
problem on any of my other Sciroccos.

TIA.
